In 1346, Moroccan traveler Ibn Battuta journeys to the Yuan capital of Dadu carrying a golden box of Sumali blue porcelain. He is ambushed by Tian Chengze, the king of the Nanyang fleet, but Yuan envoy Chen Dayuan sacrifices himself to protect him.
