As the instigator of all the culinary entertainment at Smokey Goodness, Jord is still the man with the match every day. In 2010 he started his mission to introduce the Netherlands to a better form of cooking on real fire.

His battle against shashlicks, Russian salad and peanut sauce resulted in a flaming BBQ empire decades later. BBQ books, restaurants, festivals, catering, if Jord can set it on fire with his crew, he will do it.

What Jord himself enjoys the most? A frothy glass of Belgian beer or a roaring Barolo in the glass next to a thick côte de boeuf generously topped with a classic freshly made béarnaise sauce.
